Call for registration of potential members of Search Committees – for major projects supported under OP RDI in the Czech Republic

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic – the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovation (a major R&D programme in the Czech Republic) - will in the period of 5 upcoming years establish about 40 so-called Centres of Excellence (within Priority Axis 1) and Regional R&D Centres (within Priority Axis 2) funded under the Operational programme.

The Ministry together with the respective applicants have decided to pay the highest attention to the recruitment of the two top management positions – scientific director and executive director – of the six largest R&D centres supported via the Operational Programme, namely:

  • Biotechnology and Biomedicine Research Centre of the Academy of Sciences and the Charles University at Vestec (BIOCEV)
  • Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC)
  • ELI: EXTREME LIGHT INFRASTRUCTURE
  • Information Technology for Innovations (IT4I)
  • Sustainable energy (SUSEN)
  • St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno - International Clinical Research Center (FNUSA-ICRC)

Detailed information about the individual R&D centers can be found in following table: ikona souboruDetailed information about the R&D centers.pdf

Grasping this task, the Ministry plans to implement so-called Search Committees - i.e. expert boards, which shall fulfil the following functions:

  • Retrieval of potential suitable candidates for the top management positions of the above listed R&D centers
  • Communication with the potential candidates
  • Selection and nomination of the best suitable candidates

The Search Committees will be organized in the form of expert groups consisting of both international and Czech experts in given scientific field with respect to the focus of the particular R&D center, as well as professional headhunters.

The Ministry is now therefore in search of qualified foreign experts that would be interested to serve as members of the Search Committees.

    • + about 3-5 days work from home in own time capacities during the period of June – August 2011

NOTE: experts who intend to apply for any of the top managing positions of the given R&D centers may NOT register as potential Search Committee members.
